Eurobank expands the utilization of the finker Open Banking Platform and introduces, first in the Greek market, Payment Initiation under PSD2, which allows its e-Banking users to make money transfers, debiting accounts held in other banks.
The Deputy General Manager of Eurobank & Group Chief Digital Officer, Mr. Michalis Tsarbopoulos, stated: “We are strongly committed to offer innovative services that add value to our customers. With the “Payment Initiation” service we take another important step so that our customers meet their needs wherever and whenever they want and from whatever account they hold, without having to change the digital environment”.
The new service is directly linked to the Account Aggregation service, which has already been activated by Eurobank, i.e., connecting accounts held by its customers in other banks. The “Payment Initiation” service is the second strategic step of the Bank with the aim of offering additional opportunities to its customers, in its digital channels, with new applications in FinTech and payments.
A constant goal is to build alliances and ecosystems with specialized technology providers to ensure optimal benefits to its customers.
